6mm Stove Rope
Stove (or Fire) rope is used for sealing and jointing purposes where a temperature resistance is required. It is commonly used when jointing flue systems to the appliance and also as a seal around the inside of stove doors.
Many stove collars are often larger than the stove pipe. When the gap is too large to fill with fire cement alone, stove rope can be used to decrease the amount of cement you use.
Stove rope comes in a range of sizes, the diameters that we supply range from 6mm - 12mm. (Please see separate listings)
Stove rope is also used around the door and glass of a stove. It helps fix the glass in place and prevents it rubbing on the door.
Apply the stove rope bond to all surfaces to be bonded. (see HERE)
As rope is a low value product and under intense temperatures everyday, this is an item that is not under warranty when you buy a stove or when you purchase more.

6mm Stove Rope - Directions for use:
It is essential that all surfaces to be bonded are free from oil, dust or any form of surface coating or contamination.
Ensure that all surfaces to be bonded, sealed or insulated, are degreased, clean and free from contamination. Remove any loose flaky metal or old stove rope.
A light surface abrasion of the material to be bonded will increase the amount of surface available for adhesion and will give improved mechanical key. Follow the instructions on the container.
Apply the fire rope adhesive to all surfaces to be bonded. (See separate listing)
Join and apply moderate pressure to ensure even anchorage and solid contact of the surfaces to be bonded, so that all surfaces and fully wetted, pressing stove rope firmly into channel.
Cut rope with scissors to finish with an end to end butt
Secure the components and allow the adhesive to set and harden, approx 15 minutes before closing doors. The heat from the appliance will do the rest.
